Lea Michele wants to stay on Glee when cast graduates.
Written by on December 7th, 2010

Glee star Lea Michele might come back as a teacher if bosses of the show want to replace the cast members when they ‘graduate’.

(source) The creator of the musical-comedy, Ryan Murphy, said he expects most of the programme’s cast to have left by 2012 – when their characters graduate from High School.

But Lea, who performed with the rest of the Glee gang on the X Factor 2 days ago, isn’t leaving the show that easily.

Speaking at the Billboard’s Fifth Annual Women in Music Event in New York City on December 2, the 24-year-old told HollywoodLife.com: “Maybe I would come back as a teacher.”

We hope so! (:

‘Glee’ star Lea Michele celebrates Grammy nominations.
Written by on December 3rd, 2010

Week after week, the “Glee” cast has been delivering catchy covers of songs that people already love, so it’s not surprising that in addition to big sales and ratings numbers, they’re starting to receive music industry accolades as well.

And on Wednesday night, they managed to snag two Grammy nominations, not just for the obvious category — Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media — but also for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals for their cover of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’”.

“That’s so cool!” star Lea Michele (Rachel) said of the kudos. But she almost missed the news of their nods, since she was traveling to New York to attend the Billboard Women in Music Awards on Thursday (December 2).

“I had to turn my phone off last night when we were taking of to come to New York, so up until the last minute I was texting my castmembers like, ‘What’s going on?’ ” she told MTV News on the red carpet of the Billboard event, where she was honored as a Triple Threat. “And then when I landed, I had, like, four from all of them like, ‘We got nominated!’”

Funny enough, they are up against Train’s “Hey, Soul Sister” and Paramore’s “The Only Exception,” both of which have been reimagined on “Glee.” (Also nominated in the category are Maroon 5 for “Misery” and

Sade for “Babyfather.”) And though the soundtrack nod is nothing to sneeze at, Michele has a soft spot for the Journey cover that was featured in the show’s season-one finale.

“I’m so happy, especially that it’s for ‘Don’t Stop Believin’,’ which is for the whole cast, so that we all get to go,” she said. “That’s just awesome.”

‘Fans are pissed’ over Finn and Rachel split.
Written by on December 3rd, 2010

Lea Michele’s keeping an eye out for grumpy Gleeks. After Tuesday night’s episode of the quirky FOX comedy brought an end to fan-favorite couple Rachel and Finn (portrayed by Michele and Cory Monteith) the star, 24, has had some explaining to do.

“Fans are pissed!” she told UsMagazine.com Thursday as she was honored at Billboard’s Fifth Annual Women in Music event. “I went up to [creator] Ryan [Murphy] and said, ‘How could you do this?!’ But I think if they’re meant to be together, they will.”

As for her character’s dalliance with bad boy Puck (Mark Salling) which ultimately led to the breakup, Michele hints the pair could lock lips again: “We’ll have to find out!”

The other hot topic at the forefront of the Broadway star’s mind? The show’s two Grammy nominations, including one for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group for their cover of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.”

“Gosh, it’s so awesome — I can’t wait,” she told Us, adding that “it doesn’t feel real yet.” And though she just heard of the nods Thursday morning, prep work is underway. Said Michele, “I’ve already started thinking about what I’m going to wear!”

Lea Michele wants Madonna on Glee.
Written by on November 25th, 2010

Lea Michele wants Madonna to appear on Glee. The actress would love for Madonna to appear on the hit TV show.

“We all loved the Madonna show we did but we are hoping to do a part two with Madonna,” she said. “That would be a dream. I have not met Madonna but I would love to. The only thing is, of my idols I have met, I have thoroughly embarrassed myself!”

Lea recently said: “I would love to do a straight play,” says Lea. “I love singing but I would love to see what it is like to not rest on that and the whole ‘This is how I feel, let me sing it to you’. I would like to just rely on being there as an actor and just standing there being in a scene.”

She’s proud of her body and Jewish nose.
Written by on August 13th, 2010

Now that Glee has made her a household name, Lea Michele says she doesn’t feel the need to change her appearance to fit in with the rest of Hollywood’s leading ladies.

“I come from a big Italian family and the pressure is not really anything I’ve been raised to feel,” the Broadway vet, 23, says. “I’ve always been proud of my body, my Jewish nose and all of that. Hollywood’s Hollywood, but that’s not going to change.”

2010 Emmy Nominees React
Written by on July 11th, 2010

There’s nothing like your first time.

The 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Award nominees were announced Thursday with newcomers making up a major portion of the performing categories, resulting in a number of extremely surprised reactions.

First-time nominee Connie Britton, whose “Friday Night Lights” co-star Kyle Chandler also landed his first nod for the NBC drama, actually doubted the news when she got it.

“The first two calls I had this morning, I still was like, “Are you sure? There must be some mistake,” Britton told EW.com after missing out on a nod for the past four seasons.

“Lost” star Matthew Fox, who earned his first-ever nomination, was equally surprised.

“Me personally, I didn’t even know the nominations were happening today,” he told Variety on Thursday. “It wasn’t until I was awakened by a barrage of phone calls and text messages when it suddenly clicked it must be some kind of awards day.”

Another first-time nominee, “Mad Men’s” buxom red-head Christina Hendricks, who was nominated for best supporting actress alongside co-star Elisabeth Moss, experienced more of a bitter sweet reaction.

“My cheeks hurt from smiling” she told Variety.

“Glee’s” Matthew Morrison found it equally difficult to maintain a poker face.

“I want to say this stuff doesn’t matter to me right now, but I can’t wipe the smile off my face,” he told the Hollywood Reporter.

Co-star Lea Michele was doubly excited about her best actress nomination.

“The ceremony is on my birthday,” she told AP, “so it’s like the best birthday present in the entire world.”

But another “Glee” star was less focused on her own nomination. Best supporting actress nominee Jane Lynch put in her vote for Glenn Close, who is up once again for best actress for her role as Patty Hewes “Damages.”

“Get ready for a big, humiliating loss fellow nominees,” she told The Insider of the woman she says inspired Sue Sylvester.

Neil Patrick Harris, who earned two nominations, one for his guest appearance on “Glee” and one for his supporting role in “How I Met Your Mother,” has big plans for his future with the Academy.

“Maybe next year I’ll get three!,” he quipped in a statement. “At that rate, by the year 2107 I’ll be a lock for every single category. Wish me luck.”

Another optimistic nominee, Conan O’Brien, seemed to be reaping the benefits of TBS’ push to have him nominated for his short-stint as the host of “The Tonight Show” on NBC.

“Congrats to my staff on 4 Emmy nominations,” he tweeted. “This bodes well for the future of “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.” ‘

The sweetest reactions came from the duo who plays the gay couple in “Modern Family,” both of whom scored best supporting actor nominations.

‘I now know what people mean when they say “it was a complete surprise,”‘ Jesse Tyler Ferguson tweeted. “I am sending big wet kisses to my tv lover @ericstonestreet…[and]…Keeping it real moment # 1: My Dad’s (awesome) German wife asked me if the Emmys are for TV or Theater.”

Meanwhile, his co-star stuck to a string of advectives with the Twitter message, “humbled, honored, excited, thankful, happy. very happy.”

The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon on Aug. 29 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

Lea Michele Celebrates Emmy Nomination
Written by on July 11th, 2010

This year’s Emmy Awards will air on August 29—which will be Glee nominee Lea Michele’s 24th birthday. “I’m so excited that everyone’s decided to throw this party for my birthday,” she jokes to TV Guide Magazine. “I think everyone felt really bad that my birthday was only at a sushi restaurant last year, so the Emmy committee decided to help me out this year.”

Summering at her New York apartment, Michele was worried about her downstairs neighbors complaining about her screams of joy when word came in about her first Emmy nomination as lead actress in a comedy. “I didn’t want to scream too loud, because I got a noise complaint recently from my neighbors. I think that had to do with my high heels.” She received text messages from Glee creator Ryan Murphy and co-stars Matthew Morrison, Jenna Ushkowitz and Chris Colfer. “I’m sure Amber [Riley] is still sleeping. It’s weird to be apart from each other. When the Golden Globe nominations came out we all came in to work that day to share our excitement.”

Although Michele was favored to land a nom, the actress says she is in shock. “I’m looking at the names [of fellow nominees] Tina Fey, Edie Falco, Toni Collette and Amy Poehler —it’s just mind-boggling to me. I’m such a fan of those women.”

Next season on Glee, Michele hopes that Rachel and Finn will get to have a go of it as a couple. “I want to see what that would look like since we’ve only been able to date for a week at a time—like real high school romances.”
