Scans from Cosmopolitan UK, June 2011.
Written by on May 25th, 2011

I’ve just added scans from Cosmopolitan UK, June 2011 issue. Lea spilled all sorts of juicy deets about herself – from what she was like in high school to her relationship with Theo Stockman, see what she told Cosmo UK visiting photo gallery – see scans and read full interview!

On what she was like in high school: I wasn’t a goody-goody; I loved to have fun. I never did drugs. Acting always came first. I was lucky, because I really believed in who I was.

On getting a nose job: Of course, I thought about it. I’m sooo thankful that I didn’t.

On where she thought her acting career would head: I knew I wasn’t going to end up on a Disney half-hour show. I mean, look at me! I don’t look like those girls. I just wanted to do a guest appearance on something like Grey’s Anatomy.

On her idea of a perfect night: Take a shower, put on a bathrobe, pour myself a glass of wine and Skype with Theo. That’s the best.

Glee cast on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter!
Written by on May 13th, 2011

Glee Cast – Matthew Morrison, Lea Michele, Naya Rivera, Chris Colfer, Amber Riley, Cory Monteith and Heather Morris covers this week’s issue of The Hollywood Reporter! I added to the photo gallery high quality scans and some photos behind the scenes!

Reading the article and visiting The Hollywood Reporter official site, we can know something more about New York episode, that is the most expensive episode of Glee ever. The cost of the episode? A cool six million, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Marisa Guthrie.

“A pretty hefty price tag,” she tells ET. “When you’re bringing 40 people from Los Angeles to New York, you’re putting them up, you’re paying for car services every day to multiple locations around the city, you have to hire extra police officers to police the location shoots because they’re shooting in really crowded, busy places. … So it’s a big, big endeavor and it’s very expensive.”

“Everywhere they went there were at least 100 fans at every single stop,” says Guthrie, who points out that the longer the cast was in New York, the bigger the crowds grew thanks to excited, news-spreading tweets. “Times Square there were probably about 300 just on the east side of Broadway. … The cast was dancing up on the TKTS bleacher steps, so that was a great view for all the fans. They’re going out, second season, with a bang,” concludes Guthrie, who adds that the finale episode will have a big cliffhanger. “They wanted to do something different. It’s their first big location shoot. Obviously it’s coming back for a third season. I don’t think it’s a big risk to really kind of break the bank on a finale.”

More about the filming, after the jump!

Lea Michele covers Marie Claire! ;)
Written by on April 12th, 2011

No stranger to the spotlight, Lea Michele spent more than a decade on Broadway before joining the cast of Glee. She tells Marie Claire how playing Rachel Berry has changed her life and what it’s really like having to pretend to pine for Cory Monteith in front of the cameras.

Gallery Link: Marie Claire shoot (x03MQ + cover)

THE DIVA: LEA MICHELE
Age: 24;
Hometown: Tenafly, NJ;
Character Name: Rachel Berry

Was high school heaven or hell?
It was just about getting through unscathed. I wasn’t the coolest kid, but I got by. I played volleyball, I was a varsity debater — I won a lot of trophies for that; I talk very fast! — and I only did one play and one musical because I wanted to give other people an opportunity. I also had a long-term high school boyfriend — there was some intense, emotional journaling from that — and a nice group of friends. It was really normal.

My pre-Glee gig was…
I worked consistently on Broadway from when I was 8 years old through Spring Awakening, which I left in 2008.

You famously got into a car accident on the way to your Glee audition, ditched the rental, and ran to the Fox lot anyway. Were you at all afraid they would think you were nuts?
I was more afraid that they’d think I was using that as an excuse for being late. Because at first they were like, “Oh, my God, are you OK?” But after a while they were joking, “So that ‘car crash’ you were in …” I literally had chunks of glass that I pulled from my hair and put on the table. I look back on that day and think, I can’t believe I did that. I left the car on the side of the road. But something came over me.

What’s the story behind the First Wives Club?
It started a year and a half ago. The girls would get a bottle of red wine and stay a few hours after work to hang out and catch up in my trailer. Now we do it whenever we want. Occasionally, we’ll let one of the boys in, and it’s so funny to hear them talk about it. They’re like, “Have you been to First Wives Club?” “I’ve been once.” “Did they let you in?” “They let me in last week, but they wouldn’t let me in this week.” We also hang out a lot together off the set — I’m with Dianna, Amber, and Jenna nearly every day.

Your love prediction for Rachel?
I think people want her to be with Finn. And I love working with Cory so much. He’s my buddy. The other day we did a scene, and my direction was to look longingly at him as he walked away. And I’m looking at him … looking … looking … and he starts making fart noises off camera. And I’m like, “What the fuck? What are you doing? I’m supposed to be in love with you? Are you crazy?” So thanks, Cory, for that.

How many tattoos do you have?
I have 10, but they’re tiny: a gold star for Rachel, one for Spring Awakening, the butterfly on my back is for my mom, another on my foot is for my cousins, and Kevin and Jenna and I have “Imagine.” The day I got my newest one — it won’t be my last — I texted Kevin, “At the tattoo parlor,” and he replied, “We just got here. Where are you?” And I said, “I’m in New York. Where are you?” And he goes, “At the tattoo parlor in L.A.” We’d randomly gone on the same night.

Tabloid terror: What’s been the most absurd rumor you’ve heard?
We refer to Jenna and Kevin’s houses as the “Love Nest” because we read that they were shacked up — they’re not dating, they’re best friends. And once someone said that Chris was hit by a fruit truck and died. Recently, I read that I was kicked off a plane: “Lea was using her BlackBerry …” I don’t even own one.

If everyone graduates by 2012, what’s your fantasy future for Rachel?
I totally figured it out: Rachel Berry grown-up is Charlotte York from Sex and the City, if Charlotte were raised in Ohio by two gay men.

Lea Michele loves being uncool.
Written by on March 15th, 2011

femalefirst.co.uk: The ‘Glee’ star – who plays competitive singer Rachel Berry in the musical comedy TV show – revealed she is happy to be a role model for young girls and wants to show them that you don’t have to be “cool” to be successful in life.

She explained: I’m really proud [to be a role model]. I don’t have any skeletons in my closet and I don’t feel like I’m pretending to be someone that I’m not. Yes, I work really hard and I’m determined like Rachel but I’m also a really happy, easy-going person.

She added: Plus, I’m proud of the choices I made growing up and want to show young girls that you don’t have to do what all the cool kids do in order to turn out OK in the real world.

While she has a demanding work schedule, Lea insists working on ‘Glee’ is a dream job. However, she admits she found it difficult to adapt when she first moved to Los Angeles from New York for ‘Glee’.

She said in an interview with Zest magazine: The dance routines we learn at work are pretty punishing, especially when you have to do 50 takes of something. But when I look around and realise how much fun I’m having with my best friends, it just makes me want to do it again.

Los Angeles is a pretty tough city. When I first moved here from New York I wasn’t sure I’d fit in, as there’s a definite idea of what’s beautiful. Thanks to ‘Glee’, I think the tides are turning. The show’s really shown people that you don’t have to look like everyone else to be beautiful and successful – beauty can mean so many different things and differences should be celebrated.

Lea Michele’s Cosmopolitan cover banned.
Written by on February 9th, 2011

Glee star Lea Michele’s controversial cover for Cosmopolitan has prompted bosses of a store in Texas to ban the magazine from their shelves. Michele sparked outrage after appearing on the March issue of the publication wearing a dress with a plunging neckline.

The shot infuriated many readers and parents, who claim the actress should cover up because her on-screen alter ego, high school student Rachel Berry, is a role model to young viewers. And now the owners of a Brookshires grocery store have removed the magazine from their stands, replacing it with a notice requesting patrons to ask for it from their customer services counter, according to CocoPerez.com. A customer tells the website she was told the cover “wasn’t appropriate” for display.

I’m so sorry, this is not dress, but Oscar de la Renta swimwear!!! -.-” This is Comopolitan, magazine for adults, not for teenagers… And Lea is 25!

Glee’ sets ‘Firework’ apart from ‘Silly Love Songs’.
Written by on February 9th, 2011

Madonna and Lady Gaga had their very own episodes, but Katy Perry could very well be the unofficial queen of “Glee.” Her music has found its way to the immensely popular series three times this season, twice this week alone, for some pretty big moments.

Her hit “Teenage Dream” got a second life as newcomer Darren Criss turned it into the show’s fastest-selling single yet last fall. Then came this Sunday’s post-Super Bowl episode, in which her ubiquitous summer song “California Gurls” set the scene for the Cheerios’ over-the-top opening number.

Now, her chart-topping latest single, “Firework,” has gotten the royal treatment from Ryan Murphy, when Lea Michele took a crack at the self-esteem anthem in Tuesday night’s Valentine’s Day episode, titled “Silly Love Songs.” When Rachel (Michele) realized she had to let the notion of her and Finn (Cory Monteith) go, she burst into a rendition of the song. Lea Michele covers ‘Cosmopolitan’ March 2011!
Written by on January 28th, 2011

What a surprise! Lea is on the cover of Cosmopolitan (new march issue)! Lea looks beautiful in Oscar de la Renta swimwear on the front of Cosmopolitan magazine! <33

She told the US magazine that her nerd image is far off the mark, saying that growing up she played high jinx like replacing vodka with water and then freezing the bottles.

She said: “I love to have fun.” But she insists: ‘I never did drugs. I’m proud of that. Acting always came first.’

But Lea, who is dating Theo Stockman, admitted that her idea of a good night wasn’t exactly wild.

Talking about her ideal evening, she explained: “Take a shower, put on a robe, pour myself a glass of wine and Skype with Theo. That’s the best.”

And she denied speculation about her Glee cast mates dating each other, adding: “I’m so thankful that doesn’t happen. If people hooked up, there’d be awkward tension.”

Glee Makes A Splash on the Cover of Entertainment Weekly
Written by on May 20th, 2010

The stars and the creative team behind the Fox musical dramedy speak with this week’s Entertainment Weekly about the phenomenon, the season finale, and beyond.  Glee’s ratings are stellar – in fact, since the show returned from a four-month hiatus and nabbed the prime slot behind American Idol, viewership has grown 70 percent, from 7.3 million to 12.4 million.  But it’s more than just a ratings hit: Glee has become the industry’s biggest story of the year.  It has spawned three albums, and the cast’s covers of songs like Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” routinely hit the top-downloads chart on iTunes the day after they drop.  And last week, the cast embarked on a four-city tour.  “I never thought the show would even last,” says co-creator Ryan Murphy.  “I just didn’t think people would get it.  It truly is a show that the fans think is theirs, that they discovered it.”

It’s difficult to fathom, then, that the original pilot script did not contain Sue Sylvester.  “On our first phone call, Kevin [Reilly, Fox Entertainment president] said, ‘You need a villain,’” remembers Murphy.  “And I said, ‘You know, you’re right.’  I knew exactly who she is.  I said, ‘Her name is Sue Sylvester.  And she is the cheerleading coach.  And she may be on horse estrogen.”

With those three sentences, a television icon was born.  Of course, Sue’s popularity has been helped immeasurably by the woman who sports the warm-up suits: Jane Lynch.  The 49-year-old character actress has become the prom queen of this year’s TV season, winning accolades and Gleek adoration.  Off screen, Lynch is also an out lesbian and is engaged to her girlfriend.  The actress says that she’s proud to be a role model for those viewers who face prejudice due to their sexuality.  “There are kids out in unnamed spaces where it’s not a welcoming atmosphere for their sexual orientation.  And to see somebody living their life open I think is a good thing,” she says.  “I wish I had had that when I was young.” Mostly, though, Lynch loves her day job, and says Glee’s success hasn’t changed much on the set.  “It’s been wonderful and surreal,” she says, but “we all still get up and go to work and do our thing.  The bottom line is we do it because we love it, and we’d be doing it if our ratings were in the toilet.”
