Lea In Wizard of Oz

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Lea Michele Wizard of Oz film coming soon. Glee’s Lea Michele has signed to voice the lead role in Dorothy of Wizard of Oz, a new animated3D movie opening next year. The film will be Lea Michele’s first work in features since her success on the TV series Glee and on Broadway.

The film, which is being produced by independent company Summertime Entertainment, is based on a book by L. Frank Baum’s great-grandson, Roger S. Baum. The story continues the iconic adventures of the early 20th century book series. Hugh Dancy and Patrick Stewart are also new additions to the cast, while producers have announced that pop-singer Bryan Adams will write music and lyrics for the production.

Dorothy of Oz continues a trend of Hollywood development for 3-D movies. Walt Disney wants to turn the Oz into a new movie franchise by launching another segment called “The Great and Powerful Oz.” Other voice talent on board includes Jim Belushi as the Lion, Dan Aykroyd as the Scarecrow and Kelsey Grammer as the Tin Man.

Michele, 23, began working professionally as a child actor on Broadway in productions such as Les Miserables. She appeared in several more musicals before being selected for the lead role in the hit musical “Spring Awakening,” earning a Drama Desk Award nomination for her performance. Michele has recently received widespread acclaim, and several award nominations, for her performance as Rachel Berry in the Fox television series Glee, which premiered in May 2009.

Time’s Most Influential People

Saturday, May 1st, 2010

Congratulations Lea! Lea was chosen as #13 on Time Magazine’s most influential people. It is such an amazing honor and Lea completely deserves it. To see the complete list and article please click here. To celebrate I’ve added a couple of screencaptures to the gallery of recent interviews and the Asos magazine shoot Lea did.

Another surprise was Lea Michele being included in the list at number 13, though with the breakout success of “Glee” this past year — and Lea being front and center in its success — it shouldn’t have been too much of a shock. Not only is she someone who is inspiring thousands across the States to follow their artistically-oriented dreams, but she also is someone we love to love, and see loved by other sites as well.

Glee ‘Tour’ Rehearsals Start Tomorrow!

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Who’s excited for the glee tour? I sure am. I believe I will be going to one of their stops so hopefully there will be pictures in store. If you’re going to attend one please don’t hesitate to email us pictures or just your experience there! Also please expect a relatively large update towards the end of the week, maybe tomorrow, there is so much news right now! Here’s a recap: Lea will be on Jimmy Fallon on May 4, Lea is on the cover and has a spread in Asos magazine, and HD screencaptures of “Home” will be added to the gallery soon!

Lea Michele stays classic in black at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Evening with Glee at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre on Monday (April 26) in North Hollywood.

The 23-year-old actress wore a Herve Leger dress, Brian Atwood shoes and Neil Lane jewels.

Glee creator Ryan Murphy (pictured inside in red) said he’s considering devoting an entire episode to Britney Spears’ music. “I’m interested in the Britney Spears idea. I’ve always loved her,” he told EW.

Ryan also added some details about the upcoming Glee tour. He shared, “It’s a concert tour but it also has a story in it. It’s a huge stage. We’ve got multimedia. It’s really big. Fox believes in it so much that they’ve hired the best people. It’s not about going out and selling out a lot of dates and making a lot of money. In fact, we won’t make any money with this first tour because we’ve put so much money into the set design. It’s really just a great thank you to our fans.”

Lea Michele Reveals Hair Secrets

Monday, April 26th, 2010

“Glee” star Lea Michele’s talent shines brightly — and so does her fabulous hair. What’s her secret? ET knows!

As she prepares to kick-off the “Glee Live Concert Tour” this May 15, Dove Hair jumped in to become Lea’s first-ever commercial sponsor! Since Lea spends hours on the set every day putting her hair through a lot — blow drying, curling, brushing and hot stage lights — it’s a match made in heaven.

“I have naturally curly hair,” Lea reveals. “I have to straighten it every day … I also have hair extensions, so my hair goes through an array of damage throughout the day.”

ET is behind-the-scenes of her new Dove commercial, which debuts at the end of May.

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

We’re excited to hear about this! How about you? This most likely means more pictures so look out for that. If you guys don’t know the Tony Awards is an award an actor/actress receives for great achievement in live American Theatre. Also please don’t forget to keep following Lea Michele Fans’ twitter. It will keep you updated on what’s going on with the site if there is ever anytime where I can’t update or there is any urgent site/Lea news and I don’t have access to a computer.

Two stars of stage and screen will be on hand on Tuesday morning, May 4 to announce the nominations for the American Theatre Wing’s 2010 Tony Awards®. Jeff Daniels, a 2009 Tony Award-nominee for his performance in God of Carnage, joins “Glee” and Spring Awakening star Lea Michele to do the honors in a live webcast on TonyAwards.com.

Daniels and Michele will reveal the recipients of nominations in each of the 26 competitive categories. Productions that opened during the 2009-2010 Broadway season on before the April 29 cut-off date may be eligible for Tony Awards this year. In addition, there will be an announcement of the Regional Theatre Tony Award recipient, and of any non-competitive awards that the Tony Awards Administration Committee may choose to bestow….

At just 8 years old, Lea Michele made her Broadway debut as “Young Cosette” in Les Misérables. Since then, Michele has shared the stage with Broadway greats Audra McDonald and Brian Stokes Mitchell in Ragtime, as well as Alfred Molina and the 20th anniversary cast of Fiddler on the Roof. She starred as “Wendla” in the Tony Award-winning Broadway production of Spring Awakening.

Michele can currently be seen starring on television in “Glee” as perfectionist firecracker Rachel Berry, who is convinced that show choir is her ticket to stardom. She was honored with a 2010 Golden Globe nomination as Best Television Actress – Comedy or Musical for her work on the show’s first season, and her portrayal of Rachel recently earned her a 2009 Teen Choice Award nomination.

She has performed solo concerts to sold-out crowds at Feinstein’s at Loews Regency in New York and at the Upright Cabaret in Los Angeles. She played “Eponine” in the star-studded production of Les Misérables at the Hollywood Bowl.

On the small screen, Michele has appeared on “Third Watch” and “Guiding Light.”
