Jenna Ushkowitz on Lea

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

I was doing The King and I and she was doing Ragtime. That’s where we met. There’s a small community of Broadway kids, so there are auditions that every kid is at, and you see all the time. We met through a friend. I remember she came to my birthday party at Jekyll and Hyde one year, and we were talking on the phone through that three-way calling, which was very popular at the time.

We kind of lost touch when we went to high school. I didn’t audition as much. She was still working in Fiddler on the Roof at the time, but we always would see each other and say, “Hey.” Then she was doing Spring Awakening. I never thought I’d be in that show. I was in college at the time, but then I graduated and went to see the show again. My agent was like “Let’s get Spring Awakening. They’re looking for replacements.”

When I got that, she had already done the off-Broadway and the Broadway run, and I joined after the Tonys. She bought me in her dressing room was like, “Welcome. These are all my friends. This is everybody.” Our friendship was different because we were now adults and our paths had crossed again, so it was nice.

She moved out to LA to do the Hollywood Bowl’s Les Miserables, and I was still in New York doing Spring Awakening. Then I heard, “Lea got the girl, the lead singer, in Glee.” I texted her and I said, “Hey, I’m auditioning. I’m in call backs.” Then, I got it too. Everything was by coincidence.

Lea Michele Fans Re-Grand Opening!

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

Welcome to the new and improved Lea-Michele.com! I recently adopted this site from Michelle a few days ago and since then I have been working nonstop to make it the best Lea site possible. First of all, I’d like to introduce some new changes I have made and will be making to the site. I’d like to introduce myself to all of our visitors, my name is Justine and I am a die hard Lea fan! I have loved her since Les Miserables and Spring Awakening! I have changed the site’s name from Lea Michele Network to Lea Michele Fans for a more fan-friendly vibe to the site. In addition, the site has a new theme made by Ashley at Studio-4.us. You can also now follow Lea Michele Fans on twitter. In the works is a new gallery theme, an icon archive, and an interaction section for the Lea Fans! Please keep coming back because I will be updating the site with new pictures and more in the upcoming days.
