Glee’s Cory Monteith and Naya Rivera are following Lea Michele and making their debut as mentors on the second season The Glee Project.
The Oxygen reality competition series, which saw four of its freshman-season contestants appear on the Fox musical dramedy’s third year, will welcome the Glee stars in its third and fourth episodes, respectively, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
In addition, Glee Project Season 1 co-winner Samuel Larsen will return to Oxygen as a mentor in the second episode, “Dance-ability.”
Michele will kick off the season in an episode focusing on “Individuality.” Monteith will oversee the third episode, airing June 19, which will focus on “Vulnerability” and address bullying, while Rivera’s June 26 hour will see the contestants explore “Sexuality.”
Season 1 guest mentors included Jenna Ushkowitz, Darren Criss, Dot Marie Jones, Kevin McHale and Harry Shum Jr., among others. Four contestants from The Glee Project’s first season — Larsen, Damian McGinty, Alex Newell and Lindsay Pearce — scored multiepisode arcs on the Fox series.
The Glee Project’s second season will expand from 12 to 14 contestants and from 10 to 11 episodes and launch in its new night and time at 10 p.m. Tuesday, June 5.

Lea Michele strikes a pose at the 2012 Fox Upfront presentation held at Central Park’s Wollman Rink on Monday (May 14) in New York City.
The 25-year-old Glee gal was joined by her co-stars Cory Monteith, Darren Criss, Jenna Ushkowitz, Naya Rivera, and Chris Colfer. Lea is wearing a Pucci dress, Casadei shoes, and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
“We were with Ryan [Murphy] last night, and he gave us basically the arc of next year for our characters,” Lea told E! News about next season on the show. “I just sat there and didn’t speak and tried to memorize and remember everything. And things change throughout the year, but it’s very exciting. I was super happy. Cory was happy.”
I have added over 300 HQ photos from the event into the gallery. Lea was pictured with Demi Lovato, Ryan Seacrest, Randy Jackson and Cory Monteith in the green room.

For a while it seemed as though Glee would suffer a mass cast exodus as graduating seniors Rachel, Finn and Kurt headed off to pursue theater-arts studies in the Big Apple. But now Fox has announced that the series will juggle both NYC and Ohio-set story lines, with Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson signing on as New York-based mentors. (I’m hearing the New York sets will be built in Hollywood so the cast will continue working together.) With nearly everyone expected back and no summer concert tour planned during their hiatus, for the first time in years the Glee cast has a couple of free months before heading back to work. Here’s how they plan to spend the summer.
Lea Michele (Rachel): “I’m going to stay home with my family in New York for a while. I’m looking forward to seeing Ricky Martin in [Broadway’s] Evita and Andrew Garfield in Death of a Salesman. And I’m just really excited for the things coming up next year with Rachel going to college.”

3. Lea Michele, Actress
Lea stays in shape by tackling the trails in picturesque Runyon Canyon—a 15-minute drive from her apartment—and working out with L.A. health counselor Devon Butler. “We do a lot of yoga during red-carpet season,” says Butler. “Lea has so much attention on her, and this is so calming.” Lea especially likes Bikram, poses and breathing exercises done in a heated studio for deeper stretching and stress relief.

If being on Maxim’s Hot 100 list is verifiable proof of hotness (and, of course, it is), these lovely lasses are steaming:
14. Lea Michele: Lovely Lea Michele is a triple threat: She sings, she acts, and she advocates for animals. From her vegetarian diet to her refusal to wear fur to her rescued animals to her campaign to get horse-drawn carriages out of New York, Lea always hits a beautiful note for animals.
Fox’s primetime musical juggernaut, “Glee,” adds to the network’s top 10 haul on the Billboard 200, as “Glee: The Music: Season Three: The Graduation Album” begins at No. 8. The set includes songs leading up to this past Tuesday’s third season finale, in which Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) was accepted to “NYADA,” aka, the “New York Academy of Dramatic Arts.”
The album marks the series’ 13th Billboard 200 top 10 among 13 studio compilations. Since it first reached the top tier (No. 4) with “Glee: Season One: The Music Volume One” the week of Nov. 21, 2009, the cast boasts more than twice as many top 10s as the next closest act. Justin Bieber ranks second with five top 10 sets in that span.
Congratulations Lea on making this year’s Maxim Hot 100 list! Be sure to watch the short clip attached below. Lea’s got an extra few seconds which were used to show a bit from her Britney tribute number. Love it :D
14. Lea Michele
Gaze upon the owner of Glee’s sexiest pair of vocal cords. Now stop. You’re starting to drool
What better way to bounce back from last night’s bittersweet Glee finale than with a little retail therapy?
From her rising star and diamond chain to her Finn nameplate charm, Rachel’s necklaces have always stood out on the series. But her latest accessory — a pendant in the shape of an apple — made quite a statement as she bid farewell to her friends at McKinley High and set out for New York City. (No need to shed too many tears though, she’ll still be around when the series returns.)
“This season was all about Rachel going to New York to start her Broadway career, so Lea and I had a conversation about what the necklace should be. We decided that a little apple, like taking a famous bite out of the Big Apple, would be appropriate,” says costume designer Lou Eyrich, who commissioned go-to jeweler Ryan Ryan to create the piece.
Though the necklace was custom-made for the show, it’s now available for purchase online for $215, alongside the other iconic Glee necklaces that Ryan has designed over the past three seasons. Here’s your chance to accessorize every outfit with a touch of Finn.
Now that the graduating class of McKinley High has said their big goodbye following Tuesday’s season finale, fans might be wondering what will go down in season four. It seems that much of the cast will be dispersing across the country to pursue lives outside of the New Directions, while others stay behind to finish high school.
When MTV News caught up with the cast recently, Lea Michele explained that season four’s “show-within-a-show” format will allow them to expand on the plots already introduced while also allowing new plots to breathe life into the series.
“You basically have the kids who have graduated and their story lines, as well as the kids back in high school,” she said. “I think it’ll be really great because it gives us the opportunity for the characters who have been on the show for a while to move on and to start new story lines, but then the kids who are newer on the show will get to continue on.”
“I think it’ll add more to the show,” Chris Colfer added, noting that with guest stars like Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson signed on to make cameos, fans should expect a lot of “awesomeness.”
So is Michele equally excited by the prospect of chilling with the two fashionable A-listers on set? “They’re the best,” she gushed. “It’s really cool.”
Michele and Colfer are hardly the only two characters returning to “Glee.” Show creator Ryan Murphy confirmed that everyone will be back for more. And, Darren Criss notes, it could mean some drama for Blaine and Kurt. “I think people got hung up on the idea that it’s over, which it’s not at all,” he said. “It’s just another departure point. When you graduated high school it’s not the end of the world.”
“[Blaine]’s going to be a senior. I’m curious to see where his journey takes him,” Criss added. “Him and Kurt seem to be pretty strong, but Chris [Colfer] and I liked a little drama, so we like things being shook up maybe for more than one episode. So, I don’t know. We’ll see. I’m just happy to be invited to the party.”
