The announcement that “Glee” stars Chris Colfer, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith would not be back for Season 4 may have come as a surprise to the actors, but Amber Riley – who plays sassy diva Mercedes Jones on the hit FOX show – says her co-stars seem to be “OK” with show runner Ryan Murphy’s decision.

“I think everyone’s pretty OK with it – we’ve had an amazing two seasons [and] we’re about to do Season 3,” the actress, who is currently partnering with Secret for Mean Stinks (an anti-bullying campaign), told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover in an interview on Thursday’s Access Hollywood Live. “It’s been absolutely amazing, but I don’t want to be a 30-year-old high school student either!

“‘Glee’ was just a great catapult for us,” she continued. “Nobody knew who we were and we’ll always be thankful for it. It’s just been an amazing blessing.”

Though the McKinley High senior class may be graduating, Amber, 25, said she’s sure the talented trio will continue to experience showbiz success long after they say their “Glee” goodbyes.

“I think they’re fine with it,” she told Billy and Kit. “I don’t think it’s the end of the world for them.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, last week, Ryan Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter that Chris, Lea and Cory would be leaving the show at the end of Season 3, noting that both Chris and Lea were involved in the talks about their characters graduating.

Next, year, Sony will release the soundtrack to the 3D animated musical “Dorothy of Oz,” but the film’s songs will be unveiled this Saturday (July 23) at Comic-Con in San Diego. The film, which features “Glee” star Lea Michele in the title role, is penciled in for an early spring release.

Bryan Adams has written several original songs for the film with his co-writer Jim Vallance, as has Tift Merritt. Mike Himelstein is providing lyrics, with additional songs and lyrics from Jim Dooley. Composer, orchestrator and arranger Deborah Lurie (“Prom,” “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never”) and engineer/producer Gustavo Borner are also part of the creative team.

Besides Michele, the album will feature performances by Megan Hilty (star of NBC’s midseason musical “Smash”), Hugh Dancy and Martin Short. Adams also contributes vocals and will voice/sing the role of Beaver Foreman in the film. Vicki Hiatt is the music supervisor.

The film also stars Jim Belushi as the Lion, Dan Aykroyd as the Scarecrow and Kelsey Grammer as the Tin Man.

Patrick Stewart, who plays Tugg in the film, will join Lurie, Hilty and other cast members and producers to discuss the film and show clips at Comic-Con on Saturday. Details about the soundtrack are expected to be announced at the “Further Over the Rainbow: A First Look at Dorothy of Oz” session at the San Diego Convention Center.

International versions of the soundtrack will feature local music talent not yet cast. The film will be done several different languages. Summertime Entertainment and Bonne Radford, Ryan Carroll and Roland Carroll are producing the film, which has reported budget of $60 million.

Produced with computer graphics and 3-D stereoscopic techniques for animation, “Dorothy of Oz” begins with Dorothy returning to Kansas to find it devastated by a tornado. She is quickly transported back to Oz, where her help is needed to find her former traveling companions. She meets new friends — a man made of marshmallows who can’t think for himself, for example – and winds up pitted against a wicked Jester.

Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy said he warned Chris Colfer and and Lea Michele that their characters would be written off after Season 3, but it seems the actors didn’t quite hear him.

“I didn’t necessarily know that it was going to be our last season next year,” Colfer, 21, told Extra Thursday. “I knew something like that was coming up eventually. I mean, we can’t be there forever.”

Though it may seem bittersweet, Colfer is excited to see what adventures lies ahead for his character, Kurt Hummel. “I would love to see him walking off to the sunset with an internship at Vogue,” the actor said. “That’s where he’s headed. That’s what I would like.”

Colfer also hopes Murphy will ask him back for a few episodes. “I’m hoping I can be like Farrah Fawcett, a la Charlie’s Angels, and come back in the fifth episode,” he mused. “Or I can be like Batgirl in the Batman series, where there’s a symbol in the opening credits and you know they’re in it.”

Meanwhile, Colfer’s costar Michele is trying to keep her spirits up after Murphy made the news public Wednesday. “We always knew we’d graduate in real time. It’s all part of the plan and it’s all good,” the actress, 24, tweeted Thursday. “It’s going to make Season 3 amazing! This is just the beginning!”

Lea and her boyfriend Theo Stockman attended the Broadway musical Hair. I added one MQ pics to the gallery. Rumors go that they went to see the musical on the night she found out she wasn’t going to return for the fourth season of Glee. Accoarding to Hollywoodlife she spent the entire evening looking at her phone and texting.

“Lea was completely rude. It’s annoying when people are on their phones during Broadway shows in general, but for a Broadway star to do it?” What’s more, the source says Lea’s beau Theo blocked the view of a little kid because he wouldn’t remove his hat; then did remove it, only to put it back on.

“They left the show right before it was over,” says the source, “probably because they invite the audience to dance on stage at the end.”

I think the texting had probably something to do with the fact that she found out she wasn’t retuning for season 4 of Glee. So i can’t blame her! See for yourself.

They both learned this week that their characters would not be returning to Glee for a fourth season.

And as Lea Michele and Chris Colfer prepare to begin filming their last season as Rachel Berry and Kurt Hummel, speculation is mounting about what their futures could hold away from the hit show.

Vocal coach Lisa Damiani said that the change could be tricky for trained singer Michele, if she tries to do anything other than appear on stage.

‘She is an extraordinary talent and has an amazing voice,’ Lisa told the Huffington Post. ‘The world has come to embrace her as this Broadway talent.  ‘Lea is all voice. Her future would be very successful if she sticks to Broadway.

The vocal coach added that Michele would find it difficult if she wanted to go down the pop route and compete with the likes of Rihanna, Britney Spears and Pink.  ‘That’s going to be a hard road for her because she doesn’t necessarily have the pop sound,’ she said. ‘That would be rough. The music industry and Broadway are completely different businesses.

‘She is up for a challenge if she’s looking to do pop charts.’ According to other reports, Michele is interested in starting a movie career, according to E! Online.

She has a role in the ensemble comedy film New Year’s Eve, which she was spotted filming back in March. ‘This is sooooo incredible!!!’ she tweeted at the time. ‘Shooting in Time Square right now!!! It’s freezing but I don’t even care cause we’re having so much fun!! Haha!’ she added. She will also soon be promoting her new animated film Dorothy of Oz.

According to showbiz website RumourFix.com, both stars are being lined up to star in a spin-off, which would be set in New York. The move would logistically follow on from Glee’s end of season episodes which saw Kurt and Rachel sneak onto the stage of musical Wicked, before they decided they would move to the Big Apple after graduating.

The show’s creator Ryan Murphy hinted in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter this week, that there would be focus on Rachel’s future in the show’s third season.

’I’m much more interested in Lea’s character — not so much on her relationship with Finn, but more on what her dreams are beyond high school and how she plans on getting them,’ he said.
